10 Ways to Monetize Your Webtoons

Hi Guys! For todays webtoon artist rambles blog post I wanted to share some ways you can make money from your webtoon for any webtoon comic artist who may be struggling with figuring out what streams of income they can create for their comics.

WEBTOON CANVA is different from the featured artist use see in the front page of of LINE WEBTOON. Typically Featured artist are paid on a monthly base due to them having a signed contract with the company. The amount of payment can vary sometimes based off of what featured webtoon artist have shared on twitter.

Some artist make more depending on their page views and some make less but typically their is a base amount given for each episode uploaded. You don’t receive a base payment for your webtoon episode published if you are posting with WEBTOON CANVA free platform since that is a free to use service.

But what if you’re not a featured creator on LINE Webtoon? Don’t worry, there are still ways to earn money. Here’s a list of options to consider:

  • Sponsorships or collaborations with brands or companies to promote different digital tools or assets that you use to create your webtoon
  • Selling merchandise or products related to your webtoon, such as t-shirts, prints, or stickers
  • Offering paid digital downloads or subscriptions for exclusive content on Patreon for your webtoon process or behind-the-scenes for your fans
  • Partnering with a publisher or agent, or self-publishing to sell your webtoon as a physical book or graphic novel
  • Monetizing your webtoon through ads or affiliate marketing on your own blog or website
  • Offering services such as art commissions or tutorials related to your webtoon through Patreon
  • Crowdfunding through platforms like Kickstarter or Patreon
  • Licensing your webtoon for use in other media, such as TV shows or movies
  • Hosting live events or workshops related to your webtoon on social media
  • Offering consulting or coaching services to other webtoon creators

With WEBTOON CANVA or Tapas, you can sign up for their ad revenue program. This way, you’ll earn 50% of the ads displayed within your webtoon series. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a PayPal or Patreon account to receive payment, and you’ll have to apply to be part of the program.

One option is linking your Patreon account to your webtoon, so your followers can support you through there.

You can also sell merchandise related to your webtoon, like t-shirts or prints, or offer paid digital downloads or subscriptions for exclusive content on Patreon.

Another option is partnering with a publisher or agent to sell your webtoon as a physical book or graphic novel, or monetizing your webtoon through ads or affiliate marketing on your own website or blog.

You could also offer services like art commissions or tutorials related to your webtoon on Patreon, or host live events or workshops on social media. And don’t forget about crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter or Patreon, or licensing your webtoon for use in other media.

Now, as far as payment goes, LINE Webtoon has a minimum threshold balance of $100. Payments are received on the 15th of the next month and released in increments of $100, with the balance in your account being updated on the 21st of the next month. And keep in mind that it can take a few weeks for your webtoon to be reviewed and approved for the ad revenue program.
