Image SEO is a great tool for webtoon comic artist to use to bring organic traffic to their webcomics for free.
I’ve noticed that there aren’t a lot of up to date articles or blog post about webtoon or even comic marketing strategies for 2020.
So I decided to go ahead and share a list of some of my favorite webtoon promotion and marketing strategies.
- Adding keywords to images to target Google Algorithm
- Pinning on Pinterest
- Participating in Hashtags events on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (ex. Webtoon Canva Day Hashtags, Draw this in your style Hashtags, etc)
- Sharing scenes clips of your webtoon on TikTok
How I Personally Market My Webtoon
Now my marketing strategy list is specific to me and my social personality type. I don’t have a big social battery so commenting in forums, on twitter, instagram DM isn’t a good fit for me but it’s something that I can do every once in a while.

So if you’re an introvert like me with a small social battery then you should totally check out using Image SEO of Pinterest!
I like listening to Gary Vee talk about the importance of leverage and I try to apply that when I’m trying to share my webtoon.
I don’t want to shove my webtoon in anyones face to tell them they need to read it because I personally don’t like it when people shove anime or manga recommendations in my face and tell me to read it.
Usually if that happens I end up putting it on the back burner because I don’t feel like reading it. This is usually why I personally don’t go to other peoples page or comment section or on forum post and tell people to come and read my webtoon.
Again that’s not to say that you shouldn’t this is just my own style and I know that if you don’t ask you don’t receive, so do what best fits your personality and what you can stay consistent with but I do suggest listening to Gary Vee’s talk about leverage because it helps me on how I approach marketing my content.
How I Market on Social Media
I like to keep an eye on hashtags within instagram or twitter or Pinterest. I’ve learned through experience and research that this a great way to get your webtoon in front of people that are more willing and actively looking for something to read.
I don’t like trying to convince someone to do something or read something, that’s not my strong point but I can offer something to someone that is actively or specifically looking for what I have.
So hashtag events are a great tool on every social media platform! Even on Tiktok they have different trending hashtags that you can tag your tiktok videos and share scenes of your webtoon that are relevant to that hashtag.
My Favorite Webtoon Marekting Strategy for Shy Introvert
I’ve talked about Pinterest a lot but it’s just so introvert friendly! You can simply just pin a page of your webtoon on your own board, make sure you use relevant hashtags and keywords and leave a link leading to your webtoon and there you go!
Other people searching that hashtag or keyword will find it, read it and repin aka share it on their page for their following or others to see.
Right now my monthly impressions on my pinterest is a little over 200k so I defiantly recommend this for a shy introvert webtoon marketing strategy!
