Medibang Paint and Jump Paint are two free apps that are great to use for making a webcomic because they have basic comic tools like canva resize and panel boarder creation.
If you’re thinking about trying out making a comic on the computer or even trying out starting your first webtoon then you’ll more than likely wonder what program you should use so that’s why Medibang and Jump paint are great places to test the water with.
With Medibang and Jump paint you don’t have to invest a lot of money like you would with Clip Studio Paint and a lot of the tools found in Clip Studio Debut is available in these programs; so you can create awesome comic art with a free art app!
Not only are they free but there app can be used across all platforms like your mobile phone, tablet, desktop computer, it’s an All might all for one texas smash!! (Excuse me as I nerd out a little cause OMG I LOVE All Might!)

Also another reason why I recommend Medibang Paint so much is because of the community they are building around their software!
Not only do they have manga and illustration contest, they also have free tutorials and drawing assets!
One of my favorites of their is the Trace and Draw assets that they’ve been sharing with everyone!
I’m a big fan of using reference because it’s such a great tool for artist that might not have that mind frame that is able mentally visualize images.
I know that I push Medibang a lot but they’re just such a great tool for aspiring digital webtoon comic artist to use if they want to start dabbling in drawing on the computer!
Buying big expensive programs aren’t always a necessity because the free one’s pack just as big of a punch as well!
I’ve been able to create so many awesome pieces of art (totally not biased) with free art programs and inexpensive graphic tablets!
