Default Fonts in Software like Clip Studio Paint
While many software programs like Clip Studio Paint include default fonts, their commercial use rights can vary. It’s crucial to check the specific licensing information provided with these fonts. Some default fonts might have limited commercial use or need extra licenses.
Clip Studio Paint often includes default fonts that can be used commercially. Nonetheless, it’s always a good idea to double-check the specific terms of use that come with the software.
To be safe and avoid potential legal issues, it’s generally recommended to:
- Check the font’s license: Look for information about the license in the font’s settings or documentation.
- Choose commercial fonts: When selecting fonts, choose those explicitly licensed for commercial use.
- Check font licenses: Always verify the licensing terms linked with any font you intend to use.
- Consult legal advice: If you have concerns or questions about font licensing, consider consulting with a legal professional.
Commercial Licenses and Webtoon Platforms
Even if a platform like Webtoon Canvas is free to use, it’s essential to consider future monetization options. If you choose to join their ad revenue program or sell merchandise, using commercially licensed fonts ensures you’re legally protected.
Commercial fonts are fonts that you can use for projects that make money, like selling your webtoon or creating merchandise. They usually come with a license that lets you use them for commercial purposes.

What would be a good font for webtoon dialouge?
A nice rule of thumb is to use handwritten font styles for speech balloons. This applies when searching through all of the different font styles.
There a lot easier to read then more detailed high energy or emotional font styles. With dialogue ballon the goal that I try to stick to is making it as readable as possible.
Now I like to use high energy jagged or curly fonts. They add personality or emotions for sound effects. Nevertheless, for speech balloons, I want the focus to be on what’s being said. I prefer that over the font’s personality and the emotions the style of font gives.

I downloaded the fonts and am trying to download more but its not showing up in my clip studio.. what process did you go through to get those fonts?
What worked for me was that I would install the font on my computer after downloading it then I would close out of clip studio paint and when I open it back up it usually will appear in the font area☺ I hope that will work for you❤
